Our inventory is extremely large and occasionally subject to discrepancies. If an issue arises, we will ensure that you either receive the correct item or are issued a full refund.

Orders must be placed by 11:00 AM Eastern Time on the Order By date to guarantee availability.

If the listing uses a stock image and does not include an Order By date or In Store date, the book is not currently in our inventory.
We will place an order through our distributor and must wait for them to ship the item to us before we can ship it to you.

Shipping & Mixed Orders
We ship each order once, after all items in that order are in our possession.
If your order includes a mix of in-stock books and preorder or distributor items, the entire order will be held until every item has been received.
Preorders and distributor-sourced books may significantly delay shipment. Release dates frequently change, sometimes by several months.
While we can accommodate mixed orders if necessary, we strongly recommend placing:
• In-stock back issues in one order
• Preorder items in a separate order

The issue opens with a glimpse into the past, showing a member of the Order of St. Dumas secretly freeing a woman whose genetic material was used to produce the next Azrael in artificial incubation. In the present, Batman and Oracle obtain a mysterious book recovered from the crime scene of collector Gordius—one containing clues that this woman may be Jean-Paul Valley’s biological mother. Despite needing him in Gotham, Batman arranges for Jean-Paul to travel and investigate.
Meanwhile, Lilhy hunts the same book, realizing Batman now possesses it. She learns Jean-Paul is leaving Gotham and sends her brutal new Azrael to stow away aboard his private jet. During the flight, the creature reacts violently when discovered, killing both pilots. Jean-Paul manages a desperate crash landing in the desert, surviving the wreck. As he pulls himself from the crashed jet, he suddenly finds himself face-to-face with someone he never expected to see—the woman who may be his mother.
The story closes on a quiet but powerful cliffhanger, as Jean-Paul confronts the living echo of the past that shaped him. Lilhy’s schemes, the murderous new Azrael, and the mystery of Jean-Paul’s origins all collide, pushing him toward a truth he is barely prepared to face.
