Refund Policy

At B & J Comics Etc., we want every customer to be satisfied with their purchase. Because many of our products are collectibles that depend heavily on condition, our refund and return policies are designed to be fair while protecting the integrity of collectible items.

By shopping with us, you agree to the terms below.


Returns & Refund Eligibility

We accept returns or offer refunds under the following conditions:

  • The item was damaged during shipping
  • The item you received is incorrect
  • The item is defective or not as described

All return requests must be approved before sending anything back.


Items Not Eligible for Refunds

Due to the nature of collectibles, we cannot accept returns on:

  • Comics, cards, or collectibles in delicate or high-value condition once opened or handled
  • Blind bags, booster packs, or sealed trading card products that have been opened
  • Graded comics or cards (CGC, CBCS, PSA, BGS, etc.) (Unless Damaged During Shipping)
  • Sale or clearance items
  • Digital items (if ever offered)
  • Customized or special order items

We also cannot refund items due to minor imperfections that fall within normal industry standards (see our Grading & Condition page).


Reporting an Issue

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery or pickup.

Include:

  • Your order number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos of the item and packaging (for shipping damage claims)

We will review your request and provide next steps.


Return Approval

Once your return request is approved, we will provide instructions on how and where to send the item back.

Return shipping costs:

  • If the item was incorrect or damaged: We cover return shipping.
  • If returning for another approved reason: customer may be responsible for return shipping costs.

Items must be shipped back securely and in the condition they were received.


Refund Processing

Refunds are issued once we receive and inspect the returned item.

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method
  • Processing times vary by bank or card provider
  • Shipping charges are non-refundable unless we made an error

If approved, you will receive an email confirming your refund.


Exchanges

We do not accept exchanges for online orders. If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, please follow our return process above to receive a replacement or refund.

We may consider in-store exchanges on a case-by-case basis. However, all in-store exchanges are subject to store approval and are not guaranteed.


In-Store Purchases

In-store purchases follow the same criteria as online orders. Please inspect your items before leaving the store, especially condition-sensitive products such as back issues, variants, and collectibles.


Gift Returns

If you received an item as a gift, refunds can only be issued to the original payment method. In some cases, store credit may be offered as an alternative.


Order Cancellations

  • Orders may be canceled before they are packed or shipped
  • Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled
  • Preorders may have special rules depending on publisher allocations

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify an order.
