Product Information
The product image and title will determine what type of item you are purchasing. Please review the sections below carefully.
Item should be physically in stock
If the listing displays a real photograph of the book, we should currently have that exact item in our inventory. Please Do NOT Purchase a non Pre-Order Book That is missing a picture, As we likely DO NOT Have it and will have to refund it if you purchase it. If you want us to look for a book that doesn't have an image, please message us to confirm we have it before buying...
Our inventory is extremely large and occasionally subject to discrepancies. If an issue arises, we will ensure that you either receive the correct item or are issued a full refund.
This is a preorder item
If the listing uses a stock image and includes an Order By date or In Store date in the title, the book is a pre-release item.
Orders must be placed by 11:00 AM Eastern Time on the Order By date to guarantee availability.
Images, Order By dates, and In Store dates are all subject to change.
Back issue ordered from distributor
If the listing uses a stock image and does not include an Order By date or In Store date, the book is not currently in our inventory.
We will place an order through our distributor and must wait for them to ship the item to us before we can ship it to you.
These items will typically not ship for at least one week after your order is placed.
Distributor inventory and cover images are subject to change at any time.
Shipping & Mixed Orders
We ship each order once, after all items in that order are in our possession.
If your order includes a mix of in-stock books and preorder or distributor items, the entire order will be held until every item has been received.
Preorders and distributor-sourced books may significantly delay shipment. Release dates frequently change, sometimes by several months.
While we can accommodate mixed orders if necessary, we strongly recommend placing:
• In-stock back issues in one order
• Preorder items in a separate order
This also applies to preorder-only orders. These orders will not ship until all items have been released and received by us.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange your order differently, please message us and we will be happy to assist.

🔥 Scratching The Surface
With a cover date of January 1999, this Road to No Man’s Land chapter was published by DC Comics and continues Azrael’s struggle for identity and redemption. Written by Dennis O’Neil, with pencils by Roger Robinson, inks by James Pascoe, and colors by Demetrius Bassoukos and Prismacolor, the issue places Jean-Paul Valley at the center of a deadly political conspiracy that threatens Gotham’s fragile future.
The story begins in Washington, D.C., where media personality and manipulator Nicholas Scratch stands over the corpse of Senator Esterbrook Halivan. As Scratch prepares to weaponize the senator’s death for his own rise to power, Azrael overhears the plot and attempts to intervene. Scratch quickly frames him for the assassination, turning security forces and the public against him.
Scratch orchestrates an elaborate public confrontation, ordering his devil-masked henchmen to attack him onstage so that he can “heroically” repel them and further incriminate Azrael. With footage flooding the press, the narrative is rewritten to portray Azrael as Halivan’s murderer.
As the crisis escalates, Batman confronts Jean-Paul in a moment of frustration and desperation. With Halivan gone—Gotham’s last political hope—Batman orders Jean-Paul to abandon the Azrael identity entirely, insisting the costume be destroyed. Nevertheless, Jean-Paul feels compelled to complete one final mission before laying Azrael to rest.
This issue deepens the tension between Batman and Azrael while introducing Nicholas Scratch as a manipulative new enemy whose influence reaches beyond Gotham into national politics.
