Preorders Are Final Sale
All preorder and presale items are final sale once payment has been processed.
When you place a preorder, we immediately include that item in our next distributor order. Because these products are ordered specifically for you and not kept in regular inventory, we cannot cancel, refund, or exchange them once the order is placed.
Why We Don’t Offer Refunds on Preorders
Comic distributors require retailers like us to submit firm order quantities weeks or months before release. Once those orders are locked in, we’re financially committed to purchasing those books.
This means that when you preorder an item, we’ve already reserved and paid for it based on your commitment — so refunds or cancellations aren’t possible once the preorder is submitted.
Delayed or Cancelled Releases
Occasionally, publishers or distributors will delay, reschedule, or cancel a release.
If a book you preordered is officially cancelled by the publisher and will not be printed, you will automatically receive a full refund or store credit, whichever you prefer.
If a book is simply delayed or pushed to a later date, your preorder will remain active until the item ships.
Damaged or Defective Items
We inspect all books before shipping and pack them securely.
If your preorder arrives damaged, please contact us at bandjcomicsetc@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery.
Include your order number and clear photos of the damage. We’ll review your claim and work to replace the item if possible, or issue a refund/store credit if a replacement is unavailable.
Please note: minor manufacturing or printing flaws that are common in comic production do not qualify as damage.
Incorrect or Missing Items
If you receive the wrong item or an item is missing from your shipment, contact us right away at bandjcomicsetc@gmail.com.
We’ll verify your order, correct the mistake, and make it right as quickly as possible.
Digital or Special Orders
All digital downloads, custom orders, or special distributor requests (including items not listed on our site) are non-refundable once submitted.
Please confirm details carefully before placing these orders. If you’re unsure, feel free to stop by or call the shop — Tammie can walk you through the process and make sure everything is set up correctly.

Please note VERY IMPORTANT: all pre-orders must be placed before the FOC (Final Order Cutoff) date listed in the product title and collection name. Orders placed after noon Eastern Time on the FOC date cannot be guaranteed and will be refunded, as we’re unable to process those requests once the distributor’s deadline passes.
We don’t yet have a way to automatically take these products offline at the exact cutoff time, so please double-check the FOC date before purchasing.
In some cases, books may still be available for several days after the FOC date depending on distributor stock. Availability is always subject to change. If it’s still listed a week after FOC, you’re welcome to order — anything sold out will have already been removed from the site.

What’s a Preorder?
A preorder lets you reserve upcoming comics, graphic novels, or collectibles before they’re officially released.
By ordering early, you’re guaranteed a copy when it comes out—no worrying about sellouts or missing a key issue for your collection.
When Do I Pay for a Preorder?
Payment is collected when you place your order.
This locks in your spot and helps us order accurately from our distributors, often months ahead of release. Paying in advance guarantees your books are held just for you once they arrive.
What Is the FOC (Final Order Cutoff)?
FOC, or Final Order Cutoff, is the last date comic shops can adjust their orders before a title goes to print.
Once that date passes, quantities are locked in with the publisher.
For most comics, FOC happens 1–2 months before release, but some hardcovers, manga, or collectibles require earlier notice—sometimes up to six months ahead.
Where Can I Browse or Place Preorders?
You can find all our open preorder listings right on bandjcomics.com.
We only post books that have official cover images available through the distributor or publisher’s website—this way, there’s no confusion about what you’re getting.
We may change this policy in the future, but for now, that’s how we’re handling it.
If there’s a book you want and it doesn’t have an image available, we can still order it for you, but please understand you’re taking a chance that the cover or edition might not look exactly as expected.
If you’d like to take that route, come talk to Tammie in the shop and she’ll help you with the order.
Do You Offer Preorder Discounts?
We currently do not have the ability to offer preorder discounts.
This whole process is new to us, and as we refine how it works and make adjustments, we’ll eventually be able to offer discounts in the future.
For now—no discounts, sorry! But check back soon or ask next time you’re in the store.
How Does Shipping Work for Preorders?
If your preorder includes multiple release dates, your package will ship once all items are in stock.
We typically ship within 5–10 business days after the final release date.
That’s because it takes time for our distributors to ship books to us, and when your order involves titles from different distributors, they don’t always arrive on the same day.
Once we receive everything, we bag, board, and prepare your order carefully before it heads out the door.
Some delays can occur if we’re waiting on replacements or late shipments, but we’ll always keep you updated.
What Condition Can I Expect?
We do our best to ship all preorder books in Near Mint (9.4 or better) condition.
We know collectors care about quality, but not every copy can hit a 9.8 due to printing variations or small factory flaws.
Every book is inspected before shipping to make sure it meets our quality standards.
Are Comics Bagged and Boarded?
Yes! All comics and larger items—like trades, hardcovers, and manga—are shipped bagged and boarded for protection.
We take pride in making sure your order arrives safe, secure, and display-ready.
What If My Order Arrives Damaged?
We pack everything carefully to keep your books safe, but if something shows up damaged, just email us at bandjcomicsetc@gmail.com with your order number and a few photos.
We’ll take care of it as quickly as possible or help you find a replacement if available.
Can I Cancel or Return a Preorder?
All preorders are final sale once placed.
Since we order these items specifically for you from the distributor, we can’t offer cancellations, returns, or refunds on preorder or presale items.
