📘 Series Summary

Launching as part of the initial wave of Cliffhanger Productions (an imprint of Image Comics), Crimson is a dark fantasy epic that redefined vampire lore for the modern age. The story follows Alex Elder, a teenager whose life is cut short by a gang of vampires known as the "Jelly-Bats." Instead of dying, Alex is chosen by the ancient being Ekimus to become the "Chosen One"—the first and last of his kind, destined to bring about the end of vampirekind.

Written by Brian Augustyn with story concepts and kinetic, stylized artwork by Humberto Ramos, Crimson blends teen angst with high-stakes supernatural war. Over its 24-issue run, the series introduces a rich supporting cast including Scarlett (the Red Hood), Joe the werewolf, and Zophiel the fallen angel. It remains a fan favorite for its unique visual aesthetic and its expansive mythology involving dragons, Templars, and the apocalypse.
