In this 4-issue weekly event tie-in to Countdown to Final Crisis, the villainous Monarch orchestrates a brutal multiversal tournament. To build an army capable of destroying the Monitors, Monarch abducts three different versions of the DCU's greatest heroes from across all 52 Earths. These variants are forced to battle in a specially constructed Arena where the only rule is survival: three enter, but only the strongest version of each hero walks away to join Monarch's legion.
