A philosophical vigilante challenges Gotham, the world, and the system itself in this daring 1999 series.
Overview
Anarky (1999), written by Alan Grant with art by Norm Breyfogle, is the second ongoing exploration of Lonnie Machin — Gotham’s teenage genius-vigilante whose mission is to dismantle corruption at its ideological roots. This series pushes Anarky beyond Gotham, expanding his conflict from street-level activism to global philosophical rebellion.
Synopsis
Now older, sharper, and more radical, Lonnie attempts to redefine himself as a worldwide agent of change. His crusade pits him not only against criminals and institutions, but also against cosmic and metaphysical threats, including appearances tied to DC’s larger mythos. As Anarky challenges systems of power, he attracts enemies ranging from government agencies to costumed foes — and even draws Batman’s attention once more.
